Brew Town Apparel is all about embracing the “Craft Beer Lifestyle” of friendship, community, and excellence in the craft of brewing. When asked to think about an establishment that embodies that spirit, Schilling Beer Company is one of the first places that comes to mind.
Located in Littleton, NH, near the New Hampshire and Vermont border, Schilling is nestled along the Ammonoosuc River in a repurposed gristmill. The views from their large outdoor decks rival those landscape screen screensavers you see on your laptop or streaming device.
The repurposed gristmill features an intimate seating experience where you can enjoy wood-fired pretzels and pizzas, topped with many locally sourced New England ingredients. However, even before the pandemic forced the indoor seating to be closed, the porch and patio outdoor seating was the best way to take in the cool air, scenery, and sounds from the small, but active, downtown Littleton.
Now to the beer; most are brewed in a European-style, with careful attention placed on all aspects of the brewing and tasting experience. Crowd favorite is the limited Barrel-Aged (in Whistle Pig barrels) Kamarade Baltic Porter. A great selection of German, Czech, Belgium, and other variants, like sours and farmhouse ales, will keep interest peaked.
Fret not those of you whose pallet does not desire European brews...Schilling also offers a small American-style ale project that morphed into Resilience featuring many beers that the IPA
Despite the remote small-town setting, Schilling has been very successful and added a Scandinavian-inspired tasting room and brewing facility next door to the main building. There you can try their beers, buy cans of Schilling or Resilience, grab some merchandise, but most importantly, enjoy the surroundings and the people who live the craft beer lifestyle.
